Hot Tub Time Machine 2 – You won’t be able to stop laughing
War of The Movies 7/10
Rob Corddry as Lou
Craig Robinson as Nick
Clark Duke as Jacob
Adam Scott as Adam Jr.
Plot: The magical hot tub sends Lou (Rob Corddry), Nick (Craig Robinson) and Jacob (Clark Duke) 10 years into the future to prevent an unknown assailant from shooting Lou.
The first thing you realize about Hot Tube Time Machine 2 is that it’s basically the same thing as the first one. There is not much new about it but it doesn’t mean that it ain’t worth watching. It simply mean that you shouldn’t go see it if you didn’t like the previous one. The same kind of humour is present; stupid, homophobic and funny as hell.
Before writing this review, I surfed the web to see how people actually reacted to the movie and let me tell you, it’s not good. This is where I should tell you not to go see it but it would be a lie. I actually really liked the movie. How can’t you not, a light movie with popcorn, coke and a barrel of laughter. I just couldn’t help myself and laugh myself to the point of pain. 😉 .
Should you go see it
So, to those who quoted the movie as garbage, I tell you this “Don’t go see this movie if you don’t like ridiculous humour or if you didn’t like the first one. Come on. The second one is just a continuity of Lou and the gang craziness. You won’t see developed plot here or great acting scene. It’s a funny and light movie. Nothing more.”. In my case, it’s exactly what I was expecting to see and the movie didn’t let me down. AWESOME.
No more Mr. Buzzkill
One of the think that often comeback about this movie is that John Cusack who played the role of Adam in the first didn’t comeback for this one. A bunch of people mentioned that it’s because he taught of the movie as lame, etc… but I would be more incline to think that he was unnecessary for the sequel. For me, Adam was pretty much a Mr. Buzzkill in Hot Tub Time Machine.
