War of The Movies: 4/10
Should you go see it?
I don’t recommend going to go see the movie Hot Pursuit. The humours of the movie is quite bad and the actors didn’t really sell the badly written characters. I don’t know why but I never been a fan of Reese Witherspoon but in this movie, it’s just get worse. To be fair, I listened to the movie in french so it may be possible that some of the jokes have been lost on me because of the translation. It happens some time. It’s why I like to listen to movies or tv show in the language the actors recorded it in. French, Spanish of English.
Since the release of the movie in theatre, Hot Pursuit received very bad reviews from the people in the community and for once, I tend to agree with them.
What I didn’t like
The character of Cooper was not really someone you could root for, I constantly had the urge to stop watching the scream and talk with my the people around me and by the looks of it, I wasn’t the only one. I don’t know if it is the writers fault or the acting of Reese Witherspoon but it just didn’t make it. The role of Cooper as a cop trying to regain her honour after a stupid mistake is shadowed by strange humour scenes and the less than charismatic character.
Thankfully, Sofia Vergara as Riva, saved the movie for me. I wouldn’t dare say that it was mostly due to her generous bust size and forms but it surely had some impact on the male auditors. If it wasn’t for her and the way she actually made you get a little closer to Cooper, I am sure that I would have left the theater.
What I liked about it
I am sorry to say… Not much. I can give some points to Sofia Vergara for her role as Rive and the colossal work her character played in making office Cooper a little better to watch by making her seem more human but other than that, nada.
Don’t bother paying for the movie. If you absolutely want to watch it, wait until it comes out on Netflix or play on regular cable. I promise you that you aren’t missing much.
